Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has expressed concern over PM Narendra Modi’s Bihar visit. He wrote an open letter on social media and gave five challenges to PM Narendra Modi. These include issues like caste census in the country, 75 percent reservation, reservation in private sector, special state status for Bihar and reservation for Muslim community castes. Tejashwi Yadav said that you come to Bihar only during the election season, yesterday you came to Bihar again and once again you tried unsuccessfully to confuse everyone.
Tejashwi Yadav wrote that I want to put some things before you. Prime Minister! You will remember that all of us from Bihar came to you in August 2021 with the demand for caste census and other parties including respected Nitish ji’s JDU were in favor of my demand. The proposal for caste census was passed unanimously in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on my initiative. We all together demanded caste census from you but you rejected our demand outright. We all were pained by your insensitivity but what can we say.
Demand to increase the scope of reservation to 75 percent
Tejashwi Yadav further wrote that when we came to power in Bihar, we conducted a caste survey at the state’s expense. You were also made aware of its reality. Prime Minister, in the light of that survey, we increased the scope of reservation to 75 percent and kept requesting you again and again and kept demanding with folded hands to include it in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. But, Prime Minister, basically you have an anti-backward and anti-Dalit mentality. You did not consider our important request, which was in favor of Bahujan voice. This was also demanded from the Union Home Minister in the Eastern Regional Council meeting held in Patna on 10 December 2023. You can ask him.
You will keep the discussion elevated by maintaining the dignity of your position
Tejashwi attacked PM Modi’s Bihar visit and said that today you came to Bihar and you said as many baseless, factless and false things as you could. Now it is not expected from you that you will keep the discussion high by keeping in mind the dignity of your post. But today you have come to the vocabulary of ‘Mujra’ after passing through buffalo and mangalsutra. To be honest, we are worried about you. Should the language of the Prime Minister of this big-hearted country be like this? You think and decide, I have nothing else to say.
Demand to give special state status to Bihar again
Raising questions on reservation, Tejashwi Yadav said that PM Modi has found a unique way to end Baba Saheb’s reservation. Because reservation is available in government jobs under Section 15 and Section 16 of the Constitution. If you have ended government jobs from railways, army and other departments, then what will be the concept of reservation, but this serious concern is not in your priorities. We have urged you many times in Parliament, on the road, in the House, that you make arrangements for reservation in the private sector so that a wide Bahujan population, Dalit community and other deprived groups get their due constitutional rights. Prime Minister! You keep calling even five kg ration ‘free’. This is the minimum right granted by the Constitution to the citizens of our country. Your language and sentiments are basically anti-poor. I have been constantly questioning you on jobs, economic-social justice and inflation and special status for Bihar, but your mysterious silence is disappointing all the people of Bihar.
Avoid the politics of spreading confusion and hatred
The Leader of Opposition wrote that how much should I say to you? I can only say that now only one phase of the election is left. Please consider all our demands regarding reservation, constitution and economic social justice. Tell them directly that you do not agree with the book “Bunch of Thoughts” by your inspiration Guruji Golwalkar. Will you be able to say it? Also tell that you agree with the demand of giving proper reservation to backward, extremely backward, Dalit and all classes in the private sector as well. If you are not able to say all this, then the public will understand that the falling standard of your election speeches is the true reflection of your political thinking. Who can forget that in 1990 when the Mandal Commission was implemented, you were the charioteer of the anti-reservation chariot along with Advani ji in protest against the Mandal Commission. How can the Bahujan Dalit community forget? All Dalits/OBCs-OBCs and Adivasis know that BJP and AAP are staunch ideological enemies of Baba Saheb, Birsa Munda, Kanshiram Lohia ji and Mandal Commission. Tejashwi said that along with this letter, I am also attaching the list of Muslim castes under OBC category in Gujarat. Perhaps you are unaware that Muslim community castes also get reservation in Gujarat. You have been the Chief Minister of this state for more than 13 years. So, refrain from spreading confusion and politics of serving hatred.
